Match Report  vs Parley 18th May
Another  cool, crisp evening greeted us on arrival at Whitecliff, our home ground; This week we played Parley. A very good game with Parley coming out top on the night.

Not sure who won the toss but we were fielding. George after a very good bowl last week was bowling with the wind behind him and was hit for 15 off the first over.  We then settled down and tightened the field, with good fielding by Keiran, Andy, George and Louis we finally bowled our 18 over with Parley scoring an impressive 115 for 3 wickets.

Jem opened with Andy and from the start our batsmen struggled to get the ball away. Parley bowled well and changed their field to restrict our batsman from scoring. The game was lost in the first 6 overs as we only scored 26 runs against parleys 40. Jem retired and Andy scored 16. Al the other batsman contributed but the ask rate was too high. We finished a gallant 100 for 5 after 18 overs.
A game we should have won but there will be more, that’s the nature of cricket.

Batting: Jem Hai 25 retired, Andy Murray 19, George Harper 1, Max Burrows 9, Sam Greene 5, Kieran Tomsett 4, J Coldstream 2.

Match Report  vs Bere Regis 11th May
A cool, crisp evening greeted us on arrival at Bere Regis Cricket Ground; deep in the Dorset country side this small village has a very well kept pitch, a credit to the members of this small community. After a few frantic phone calls of ‘I am lost, where is the ground?’ We finally assembled a team of 8 as Sam Greene was being flown in from Wimborne, flight was delayed due to the ash cloud, by 10 minutes. Winning the toss we decided to have a bowl.

George Harper opened well and took a wicket in his first over. Andy Murray continued the pressure from the other side and restricted their batsmen to 2 runs. Bere Regis never really got going and after some awesome bowling by George Harper, who finished his 4 over for 11 runs and 5 wickets. With our fielding much improved over the winter, we bowled Bere Regis out for 69 runs.

A quick turn around saw Jem and George take the crease, Jem hitting a six and 2 fours in the first over, helped along by George who also scored a few notable fours . Jem retiring after facing 14 balls leaving Max Burrows and George to get the 70 runs we needed in 9 overs.

Man of the match should be George Harper but Jem’s batting and his 3 stumpings tips the balance in his favour.

Batting: Jem Hai 25 retired, George Harper 19 no, Max Burrows 2 no
